Life of Pi. Finally.
I had read the book three years ago, yet remembered most of the details.
I'm very, very glad that they didn't fill so much of the long spaces with needless dialogue, because it's being told by an older Pi (to...Yann Martel? I dunno, I missed the first fifteen minutes). It was incredibly faithful to the book.
Suraj Sharma did a really interesting job as stranded at sea Pi. This was apparently his first gig, and I say interesting because he seems around my age so it seems really genuine (because I'd be scared out of my mind), even while no doubtedly working on a green screen. So interesting in a very good way   I was legitimately crying during his last monologue in the hospital.
This is the prettiest live action movie I've ever seen. The cinematography was gorgeous at sea and back in Pondicherry, especially the two night scenes with the luminescent whale and bits in the water. Richard Parker (the tiger) wasn't real, and at first yeah, that disappointed me (though I know very well that...that probably wasn't plausible) but someone studied, so he was extremely realistic. I wonder how they did the carnivorous island segment...

If you don't dig theology you may get a bit annoyed - as someone who doesn't, I found that the theological elements (Since Pi is a practicing Hindu, Catholic and Muslim) were really thoughtfully utilized and I didn't mind seeing them (my mother was actually nodding along with bits from all three religions and she's staunchly Christian)

Beautiful, beautiful music. Near the end of the movie, the older Pi mentions that just because his ordeal happened, it didn't really have to mean anything, but to the viewer it portrays keeping faith and hope.
It's two hours and six minutes long, but it's very enjoyable. I will legitimately buy this on DVD and hope that it gets some Oscar nods (I think it has some for the Golden Globes, but they didn't nominate ParaNorman for best animated movie so their opinion is low in my eyes this year).

I have no idea what to feel about this...more "Well, I don't think we're respected enough to make parodies of ourselves like this.". It's well made though.

So this person 'reviews' Brave;

Eh, you think that there have been NO females in leads in animated movies outside of Disney Princesses besides Merida?

- Anastasia. Right off the top of my head. I don't even like the movie.
- This movie is incredibly feminist, he says, as is Prometheus, Hunger Games, something else, because of strong female roles - that involve being tough, shooting arrows or being violent, which is certainly a kind of feminism, this reviewer just gives the impression that this is the only kind.
- He then spends one out of eight minutes talking about how the movie was beautiful, funny, and emotional.

How old were you when you had your first kiss? Was it just a peck on the cheek, or was there more to it?

What celebrity or other public figure would you be perfectly happy to never see or hear anything about ever again in your lifetime? Why do they annoy you so much?
